#PineCon24
Arkaig
Led by Arkaig Community Forest, Woodland Trust Scotland and Achnacarry Estate.
Suitable for up to 40 people.
This is anticipated to be a larger group with a focus on discussion located at landscape viewpoints. There are likely to be short walks along tracks. Please bring waterproof clothing and footwear.
Beò Airceig is an ambitious landscape scale collaboration project between the community and other landowners in the iconic glens surrounding Loch Arkaig. Partners are working together to regenerate and reconnect the ancient Caledonian pine forests and other surviving rainforest remnants within an area also important for its freshwater, peatland and mountain environments.
You will see several relict Caledonian Pinewoods within their wider landscape context. Honest and open discussion will centre on how different partners - private, community, eNGO and government - are working to a common vision.
